Krabi is the Andaman coast at its most theatrical: sheer limestone karsts rising out of jade water, longtail boats nosing onto beaches with no road access, and 200-odd islands scattered offshore like a screensaver come to life.
Railay is the icon — a peninsula cut off by cliffs, reachable only by boat, with two of Thailand's most photographed beaches and rock climbing that draws devotees from everywhere. Ao Nang is the practical base with the widest resort choice and island boats from the sand, while Klong Muang and Tubkaek to the north offer quiet five-star frontage facing the Hong Islands.
The island-hopping is the point here: the Hong Islands' hidden lagoon, the four-island circuit off Ao Nang, Koh Phi Phi's amphitheatre bays a fast boat away. Add the Emerald Pool and hot-spring waterfalls inland and Krabi fills a week without repeating itself.
November to April is the dry season and prime boat weather; May to October softens the crowds and the rates, with the karst scenery arguably even more dramatic under monsoon skies. When our Krabi deals land they'll follow the usual rules — direct contracts, breakfast included, named boat operators for the island days. Join below to hear first.

Browse today's live dealsNovember to April is the dry season — calm seas, reliable sun and prime conditions for island-hopping. May to October brings the green season: short heavy showers, quieter beaches, softer rates, and some outer-island trips scale back when swells are up. Shoulder months of November and April balance both.
Krabi has its own international airport, reached via Bangkok in about 80 minutes or via Singapore and Kuala Lumpur on select routes. Ao Nang and the Klong Muang resorts are 30–45 minutes from the airport; Railay is a short longtail or speedboat ride from Ao Nang.
Railay for drama — boat-only access, cliffs on every horizon and the feeling of staying inside the postcard, at the cost of fewer dining options. Ao Nang for convenience — the broadest choice of resorts and restaurants, and island boats straight off the beach. Klong Muang and Tubkaek suit travellers wanting quiet five-star beachfront.
Different trip. Krabi is smaller-scale and scenery-first — karsts, hidden lagoons and boat days — with a more relaxed pace. Phuket offers bigger resorts, more dining and nightlife, and easier logistics. They face each other across Phang Nga Bay, so ambitious itineraries combine both.
