Thailand's second-largest island grew up gracefully: Koh Samui traded its backpacker roots for pool villas, wellness retreats and one of Asia's best boutique-resort scenes, without losing the coconut-grove interior that gives the island its shape.
Each coast has a character. Chaweng is the energetic east — a long white beach with dining and nightlife in depth. Bophut's Fisherman's Village does boutique charm and Friday night markets. The north around Maenam stays mellow and family-friendly, while the south and west are where the hideaway villas hide, facing sunsets over the Five Islands.
Samui runs on its own weather calendar — a Gulf island, not an Andaman one. The long dry stretch from roughly January to August is prime (with February to April the glassy peak), and the brief monsoon lands late October to December. When Phuket is wet, Samui is often shining — worth knowing for mid-year planning.
The island pairs beautifully with its neighbours: Koh Phangan's quiet north coast is a short ferry hop, and the Ang Thong marine park's 42 islands make the definitive day cruise. Our Samui deals will follow the house rules — direct hotel contracts, breakfast always included, transfers and extras in writing. Join below to be first.

Browse today's live dealsJanuary to August is the long dry season, with February to April the calmest, clearest stretch. The short monsoon runs late October to December. Usefully, Samui's Gulf position means its wet season is the opposite of Phuket's — mid-year, when the Andaman coast is rainy, Samui is often at its best.
Fly via Bangkok (or Singapore) straight into Samui's charming open-air airport, minutes from the northern beaches. A budget-friendlier route is flying into Surat Thani on the mainland and connecting by ferry. Most of our deals will include private airport-to-resort transfers.
Chaweng for beach energy, dining and nightlife; Bophut's Fisherman's Village for boutique charm and walkable evenings; Maenam for quiet family beaches; the south and west coasts for honeymoon-grade villa seclusion and sunset views. The island is small enough that no choice locks you in.
One of Asia's best. The island specialises in private-pool villas, spa resorts and beachfront dinners, and the boutique properties we favour are built exactly for two. Pair a Samui week with a night or two at an Ang Thong-facing hideaway and the honeymoon writes itself.
