From the rice terraces and surf breaks of Bali to the dragons of Komodo, Indonesia packs more variety into one archipelago than most continents manage. For Australians it's the closest thing to a home-turf tropical escape — around six hours from the east coast, less from Perth, with a dozen flights a day into Denpasar.
Bali is the heart of our Indonesia collection, and for good reason: nowhere else combines boutique resorts, world-class dining and genuine cultural depth at Balinese prices. Seminyak polishes the beach-club end of the spectrum, Canggu brings the surf-and-wellness energy, and Ubud offers jungle calm an hour inland.
Bali is a year-round destination, but the dry season from April to October is the sweet spot — sunny days, low humidity and evenings cool enough for a long dinner. The wet season from November to March means short tropical bursts rather than washed-out days, and the island is at its greenest and quietest.
We skip the mega-resorts in favour of boutique properties we have personally vetted — places with real designer credentials where the GM knows your name by day two. Breakfast is always included in our contracts, and our concierge team handles the things that make Bali effortless: private drivers, restaurant bookings, nannies and spa reservations.
For travellers who want to go further, we occasionally add island cruises through Komodo and the eastern archipelago — small ships, big scenery and a very different side of Indonesia.

Tucked away in the heart of Seminyak, Sini Vie Resort is an intimate adults-only sanctuary where Balinese elegance meets modern luxury. Set across lush tropical gardens, the resort's pool villas and suites are designed for couples and discerning solo travellers who want to experience Bali at its most refined — away from the crowds, and entirely on their own terms. Each morning begins with a generous daily breakfast served in the resort's open-air restaurant, drawing on the finest local produce and Balinese flavours. Your arrival is seamless too, with a private transfer from the airport included — so from the moment you land, the holiday has already begun. Beyond the resort, Seminyak's world-class dining, boutique shopping, and legendary sunsets are on your doorstep. Whether you choose to spend your days drifting between the pool and the spa, or exploring the temples and rice terraces of the island's interior, this is Bali done the way it was always meant to be experienced.

Tucked into Bali's most talked-about coastal village, La Mewali Resort & Spa Canggu is a brand-new five-star eco-wellness retreat where sculptural, cave-inspired architecture meets the laid-back rhythm of Canggu. Sweeping organic forms, lush greenery and water at every turn set the tone for a stay built entirely around slowing down. This is wellness without the rigidity — unwind at the spa, drift between the outdoor pool and poolside bar, and let the on-site restaurant and 24-hour room service take care of the rest. Your stay includes daily breakfast for two, a cocktail for two and a 60-minute couples' massage, so the indulgent extras are sorted before you even arrive. Choose a Suite Room framed by calming pool views, or upgrade to a One-Bedroom Plunge Pool Villa that opens straight onto its own private plunge pool and lagoon. Either way you're moments from Canggu's surf breaks, beach clubs and rice-field walks — and just over an hour from Ngurah Rai International Airport, with direct flights from most major Australian cities. Travelling as a small family? Each room welcomes up to 2 adults plus 1 child aged 11 or under, with the child staying free — children 12 and over are counted as adults.

The dry season from April to October offers the most reliable sunshine and lower humidity — ideal for beach and pool days. The wet season (November to March) brings short, heavy afternoon showers rather than all-day rain, plus greener landscapes and quieter resorts. July, August and school holidays are peak periods, so book those windows early.
Denpasar is around six hours' flying from Australia's east coast, about three and a half from Perth. Bali is only two hours behind eastern Australia (same time zone as Perth), so there's effectively no jet lag — one reason it remains Australia's favourite short-haul luxury escape.
Australians can obtain a visa on arrival (or e-VOA online in advance) for tourist stays of up to 30 days, extendable once. You'll also complete Indonesia's electronic customs declaration before or on arrival. Check the latest requirements before you fly, as fees and rules are updated periodically.
Seminyak is polished and central: beach clubs, cocktail bars and shopping within walking distance, best for first-timers and couples who want everything on the doorstep. Canggu is younger and more laid-back — surf breaks, wellness studios and café culture with a village feel. Both are 45–90 minutes from the airport depending on traffic.
Exceptional. Five-star Bali resorts routinely price at a half to a third of equivalent properties in the Maldives or Australia, and day-to-day costs — dining, spa treatments, drivers — are among the lowest of any premium destination. Our deals add contracted inclusions like breakfast and resort credits on top.
