From the rice terraces and surf breaks of Bali to the dragons of Komodo, Indonesia packs more variety into one archipelago than most continents manage. For Australians it's the closest thing to a home-turf tropical escape — around six hours from the east coast, less from Perth, with a dozen flights a day into Denpasar.
Bali is the heart of our Indonesia collection, and for good reason: nowhere else combines boutique resorts, world-class dining and genuine cultural depth at Balinese prices. Seminyak polishes the beach-club end of the spectrum, Canggu brings the surf-and-wellness energy, and Ubud offers jungle calm an hour inland.
Bali is a year-round destination, but the dry season from April to October is the sweet spot — sunny days, low humidity and evenings cool enough for a long dinner. The wet season from November to March means short tropical bursts rather than washed-out days, and the island is at its greenest and quietest.
We skip the mega-resorts in favour of boutique properties we have personally vetted — places with real designer credentials where the GM knows your name by day two. Breakfast is always included in our contracts, and our concierge team handles the things that make Bali effortless: private drivers, restaurant bookings, nannies and spa reservations.
For travellers who want to go further, we occasionally add island cruises through Komodo and the eastern archipelago — small ships, big scenery and a very different side of Indonesia.

Settle into the 5-star Merusaka Nusa Dua for five nights of genuine all-inclusive living on Bali's southern coast — where breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and a couples' massage are all arranged before you land. From the welcome drink onwards, dining is unlimited: daily buffet breakfast for all paid guests at Gading All Day Dining Restaurant, then a la carte lunch and dinner at any of the resort's four restaurants, as often as you like. Drinks flow just as freely — non-alcoholic from 7am to 11pm and alcoholic from 11am to 11pm at any outlet (selected premium brands aside), plus a daily minibar in your room with two Singaraja Beers, a Sprite and a Coke. Afternoons are built around the ocean-view Bar Lounge, with sweets, cookies and savoury bites from 3pm to 5:30pm, followed by free-flow cocktails and canapés from 5:30pm to 7pm as the light softens over the water. Once during your stay, you and your travel partner each unwind with a 60-minute Balinese massage at The Spa by Merusaka, with 20% off any further treatments. Days fill themselves in easily. There's beach access, an outdoor pool, a poolside bar, a fitness area you're free to use, and a daily schedule of resort activities from yoga and ping pong to pool and beach games and chess. Families are well covered too, with complimentary access to Tamaya Kids Land for ages 5 to 11.99. Choose from Deluxe Rooms designed around the Seven Balinese Goddesses, Deluxe Pool Access rooms with a balcony leading straight to a communal pool, or a One Bedroom Villa for a quieter, more romantic stay.

Settle in for six nights at the 5-star Anvaya Beach Resort Bali, a beachfront address in Kuta where the daily rhythm is already taken care of. Breakfast for two adults and one child is served every morning, and each day you choose either lunch or dinner at Sands Beach Restaurant — so the only real decision is whether to spend the afternoon by the outdoor pool or on the sand. The extras add up quickly. Every adult enjoys a daily one-hour free flow at the Pool Bar and one 60-minute massage at the Spa & Wellness Centre, while the minibar is replenished daily. Children under 12 stay and eat free and have daily access to the Kids Club, making this an easy fit for families travelling together. Rooms range from the 35.5 sqm Premier with its private balcony, to Premier Lagoon rooms with direct lagoon pool access from the terrace, through to the 71 sqm Deluxe Suite and 80 sqm Premier Suite with separate living areas. Airport shuttle and transfers are available, bicycle rental, a fitness centre and free Wi-Fi are on hand throughout, and on your final day the hotel departure lounge with refreshments means you can enjoy Bali right up until it's time to leave.

Enjoy a romantic Bali getaway at Ayona Villa Canggu, where privacy, relaxation, and luxury come together in your own private pool villa. This 5-night escape is designed for couples looking to unwind with a blend of indulgence, wellness, and special experiences in the heart of Canggu. Stay in a One Bedroom Villa with Private Pool & Bathtub, complete with daily breakfast, a floating breakfast experience, a relaxing massage for two, and a romantic villa setup to make your stay extra memorable.

Settle into the 5-star Viceroy Bali, a boutique hotel set high above the Ubud jungle where every villa comes with its own private pool and an open-air balé for slow mornings and even slower afternoons. Your three nights include daily breakfast, a cocktail or mocktail each at Pinstripe Bar, and a 90-minute massage per adult at the Spa & Wellness Centre. The minibar is stocked with soft drinks and snacks and replenished daily, and you'll receive 10% off your total food and beverage bill at Apéritif and CasCades — so the long lunches and sunset dinners feel a little easier on the wallet. Stay five nights or more and a three-course dinner for two at CasCades is added to the package. Choose the Terrace Villa, with expansive interiors and a traditional Balinese balé perched over a private heated pool, or the Deluxe Terrace Villa, where contemporary Balinese design meets a heated infinity-edge pool and outdoor balé seating. Both look straight out over the valley. Beyond the villa, there are indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and gym, a restaurant, bar and lounge, 24-hour reception and room service, a tour desk, bicycle rental and free Wi-Fi throughout. Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out at 12:00, with airport transfers available on request.

Tucked away in the heart of Seminyak, Sini Vie Resort is an intimate adults-only sanctuary where Balinese elegance meets modern luxury. Set across lush tropical gardens, the resort's pool villas and suites are designed for couples and discerning solo travellers who want to experience Bali at its most refined — away from the crowds, and entirely on their own terms. Each morning begins with a generous daily breakfast served in the resort's open-air restaurant, drawing on the finest local produce and Balinese flavours. Your arrival is seamless too, with a private transfer from the airport included — so from the moment you land, the holiday has already begun. Beyond the resort, Seminyak's world-class dining, boutique shopping, and legendary sunsets are on your doorstep. Whether you choose to spend your days drifting between the pool and the spa, or exploring the temples and rice terraces of the island's interior, this is Bali done the way it was always meant to be experienced.

Perched on the limestone cliffs of Nusa Dua's southern coast, Samabe Bali Suites & Villas is one of the island's most secluded five-star escapes — panoramic Indian Ocean views, a white-sand beach at the foot of the cliff, and timeless Balinese architecture with soaring thatched roofs throughout. This escape is all about the villas: your 375 sqm one-bedroom pool villa comes with its own 32 sqm private pool, a spacious lounge, luxurious bathtub and a garden or ocean outlook, plus a personal 24-hour e-butler. Daily buffet breakfast (or a floating breakfast in your pool), free-flow non-alcoholic beverages, daily yoga, unlimited non-motorised water sports, a 50-minute in-room massage for two and an Indonesian Rijsttafel dinner are all included before you even consider the upgrades. Want everything taken care of? Step up to the Unlimited Privileges all-inclusive experience — à la carte dining anywhere on the resort, local-brand cocktails, wines and beers from 11am until midnight, and one Samabe Signature Activity for every night of your stay. All of it just 30 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport, in the manicured calm of Nusa Dua.

Tucked into Bali's most talked-about coastal village, La Mewali Resort & Spa Canggu is a brand-new five-star eco-wellness retreat where sculptural, cave-inspired architecture meets the laid-back rhythm of Canggu. Sweeping organic forms, lush greenery and water at every turn set the tone for a stay built entirely around slowing down. This is wellness without the rigidity — unwind at the spa, drift between the outdoor pool and poolside bar, and let the on-site restaurant and 24-hour room service take care of the rest. Your stay includes daily breakfast for two, a cocktail for two and a 60-minute couples' massage, so the indulgent extras are sorted before you even arrive. Choose a Suite Room framed by calming pool views, or upgrade to a One-Bedroom Plunge Pool Villa that opens straight onto its own private plunge pool and lagoon. Either way you're moments from Canggu's surf breaks, beach clubs and rice-field walks — and just over an hour from Ngurah Rai International Airport, with direct flights from most major Australian cities. Travelling as a small family? Each room welcomes up to 2 adults plus 1 child aged 11 or under, with the child staying free — children 12 and over are counted as adults.
The dry season from April to October offers the most reliable sunshine and lower humidity — ideal for beach and pool days. The wet season (November to March) brings short, heavy afternoon showers rather than all-day rain, plus greener landscapes and quieter resorts. July, August and school holidays are peak periods, so book those windows early.
Denpasar is around six hours' flying from Australia's east coast, about three and a half from Perth. Bali is only two hours behind eastern Australia (same time zone as Perth), so there's effectively no jet lag — one reason it remains Australia's favourite short-haul luxury escape.
Australians can obtain a visa on arrival (or e-VOA online in advance) for tourist stays of up to 30 days, extendable once. You'll also complete Indonesia's electronic customs declaration before or on arrival. Check the latest requirements before you fly, as fees and rules are updated periodically.
Seminyak is polished and central: beach clubs, cocktail bars and shopping within walking distance, best for first-timers and couples who want everything on the doorstep. Canggu is younger and more laid-back — surf breaks, wellness studios and café culture with a village feel. Both are 45–90 minutes from the airport depending on traffic.
Exceptional. Five-star Bali resorts routinely price at a half to a third of equivalent properties in the Maldives or Australia, and day-to-day costs — dining, spa treatments, drivers — are among the lowest of any premium destination. Our deals add contracted inclusions like breakfast and resort credits on top.
