Coral Coast Deals
The Coral Coast is Fiji's original resort coastline: an 80-kilometre stretch of Viti Levu's south shore between Sigatoka and Pacific Harbour, where fringing reef meets sandy coves, villages sit beside resort gates, and the mountains rise green behind. It's where Fijian holidays began in the 1960s, and it still offers the most rounded version of the country — beach, culture and adventure in one place.
The resorts here are spread along the coast rather than clustered, each with its own bay: big family favourites with famous kids' clubs, adults-only retreats on rocky points, and a couple of grand, established properties with sprawling gardens and reef right off the beach. Because you're on the mainland, there's a real village community around you — Sunday church singing, kava ceremonies and market days are part of the rhythm, not a scheduled show.
Adventure is the Coral Coast's edge over the islands. The Sigatoka River jet-boat and village safari, the sand dunes national park, the Kula Wild Adventure Park with its zipline, Pacific Harbour's shark dive and white-water rafting in the Navua Gorge are all along this coast. Snorkelling is reef-dependent — best at high tide — and the surf breaks at Frigates Passage are world-class for those who know.
May to October is the dry season with the calmest reef conditions; November to April is warmer, greener and wetter with a cyclone risk in the first quarter. How do I get to the Coral Coast?
Fly direct to Nadi from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane with Jetstar, Fiji Airways, Qantas or Virgin Australia, then it's a scenic 60–90-minute drive along the Queens Road to the Coral Coast resorts. Our deals will include the private transfer. Pacific Harbour at the eastern end is closer to Suva than Nadi.
Coral Coast or Denarau?
Denarau is closer to the airport and more compact, with big pools and a shared resort village. The Coral Coast trades that convenience for a more authentic setting — reef off the beach, villages next door, mountains behind — and better access to adventure activities. Families who want more than a pool tend to prefer the Coral Coast.
Is the snorkelling good on the Coral Coast?
It's tide-dependent. Most Coral Coast beaches sit inside a fringing reef, so snorkelling is best at high tide when the water covers the coral, and the resorts run boat trips to the outer reef. For all-day, walk-in reef snorkelling, the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands are stronger; for a mix of reef and activities, the Coral Coast wins.
Is the Coral Coast good for families?
It's arguably Fiji's best family coast. Several resorts here built their reputations on kids' clubs, nanny services and family programs, and the activities — jet-boats, ziplines, the Kula wildlife park, village visits, sand dunes — suit every age. The calm, reef-protected beaches are safe for younger children.
What is there to do on the Coral Coast?
